Principal's Greeting

Welcome to Conyers Middle School, the “premier middle-school experience”!

I am Dr. De’borah D. Reese and it is an honor to join the CMS Family as the new Principal.  As a 17-year veteran educator, I’m excited to collaborate with such a dedicated staff, hard-working students, supportive parents and caring community.

My professional career began in the corporate setting.  After spending five years in the fields of customer service and human resources, I decided that being an educator was my life’s mission.  I currently hold a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Management from Nova Southeastern University, a certification in Behavior Disorders from Georgia State University, a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University, an Educational Specialist degree in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University and a PhD in Instructional Leadership from Northcentral University. 

Originally from Orlando, Florida, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia with my husband Alfonzo Sr. and our two sons, Alfonzo Jr. and Jeremiah.  My teaching career began in Fulton County Schools where I served 6 years in an elementary school setting.  I then served in Henry County Schools for 11 years in the middle school setting as a teacher, department chairperson, and an assistant principal. 

I am very passionate about the middle school years as this is an important and critical time of transition – moving from the elementary experience and preparing for the bigger challenge of high school. What happens during these few short years will have a lasting impression on student development and growth.

I invite you to become an active participant in our school community through volunteering, joining our PTSA, and/or attending school events. Research clearly supports that when parents/guardians participate and are involved in their child’s education, there is a greater likelihood of academic success. 

As Principal of Conyers Middle School, I am committed to fostering a student-centered learning culture that ensures academic achievement for each student where they will know that achievement is not only possible, it is the standard.
