2016-2017 PTA Information

Online Textbook Site - CLICK HERE!!! - As RCPS strives to create 21st century learners, all of our textbooks are now located online. Students will use print AND online textbooks at school, and will also be issued workbooks. We encourage you to try out the online textbooks with your student. Each student will be issued a Science textbook and interactive Math book for use in class and at home. English Language Arts and Social Studies books are available online only outside of school, therefore it is no longer necessary to sign a parental approval letter to check out textbooks from the media center.

Georgia Milestones Test Resources -
To support the learning that takes place here at school, we have provided a number of resources that will allow students to practice and improve skills at home. Teacher Training and Credentials

In compliance with the requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), you have the right to request information about your child’s teachers’ training and credentials. The following information may be requested:
•Whether the teacher met the Georgia Professional Standards Commission requirements for certification for the grade level and subject area in which the teacher provides instruction;
•Whether the teacher is teaching under an emergency or other provisional status through which Georgia qualifications or certification criteria have been waived;
•What undergraduate or graduate degrees the teacher holds, including graduate certificates and additional degrees, and major(s) or area(s) of concentration; and
• Whether your child is provided services by paraprofessionals, and if so, their qualifications.

Please rest assured that our staff is committed to helping your child reach his or her maximum academic potential throughout their school career. That commitment includes making sure that all of our teachers and paraprofessionals are highly skilled and delivering quality instruction to your child.

If you wish to request information concerning your child’s teachers’ qualifications, please contact me, Allison Barbour, your child’s principal, by phone at770-483-3371 by email at

Thank you for your interest and involvement in your child’s education.

Transfer/Withdrawal Process - If possible, call ahead at least 24 hours in advance with your child's name, current grade, and where you plan to transfer or withdraw to and that way, I can have your transfer/withdrawal completed by the time you get here in most cases. The only person that can withdraw the student is the person who enrolled them. So, that parent can bring ID and sign the transfer/ withdrawal forms. The paperwork necessary to get your child enrolled will be sent with you in a sealed envelope. It will be necessary to finalize all lunch account monies as well as any outstanding book fines before your paperwork is released.
