Mrs. Fannetta Gooden – Principal, Conyers Middle School 

I am thrilled to serve as the principal of Conyers Middle School and to welcome our students, families, and staff to another exciting school year! After a fantastic year of growth and memorable moments, I am looking forward to continuing our journey together. 

This year marks my 15th year as a school leader. I began my administrative journey here at CMS in October 2012, serving as an assistant principal for 13 years.  I had the opportunity to expand my leadership experience at General Ray Davis Middle School for 1 year, and while I valued that time, returning to CMS truly felt like coming home. Even after 35 years in education, CMS continues to be the place where my heart resides. 

Before stepping into administration, I began my career as a high school English teacher. After five years, I transitioned to middle school, teaching language arts and reading. I hold a BA in English from Talladega College, a master’s in educational administration from Grand Canyon University, and a Specialist in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia. 

I am also a proud wife and mother of three adult children and one grandbaby, and they are my greatest support. 

This year, I will continue to foster a school climate where students and staff feel safe and supported. Together, we will work to create an environment where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, and where parents feel welcomed.
